BATHCO had the pleasure to actively contribute in the newly released SME Sustainability Guidebook by the UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein.
The guidebook shifts the narrative: sustainability isn’t reserved for multinational giants—it’s a smart business move for SMEs too. It offers a clear four-step roadmap, alongside tools, templates, and real-world case studies from Swiss SMEs. Businesses learn to begin modestly, scale efficiently, and leverage sustainability as a competitive edge, all while ensuring financial and strategic alignment.
Key features include:
- Step-by-step integration of ESG principles.
- Customizable templates for reporting and planning.
- Examples of cost-effective resilience-building.
BATHCO shared its frontline experience in driving ESG- and compliance-focused enhancements across its value chain. In the demanding aluminium and chemical industries, the company demonstrated how to move from commitments to results—engaging suppliers, optimizing internal systems, and measuring impact. These contributions provide SMEs with a blueprint: start with targeted improvements, like Bathco did, to unlock efficiency gains and risk reduction.
Grateful to be a relatable role model for other SMEs, proving that mid-sized players can lead in decarbonization and circular economy practices without overwhelming resources.
